The Colorado Eagles today announced the signing of forward Ivan Ivan to a one year AHL contract. Ivan recently finished his QMJHL career after three seasons with the Cape Breton Eagles.
Over those three seasons, Ivan recorded 75 goals and 191 points, and last season he finished in the top ten for both points and assists in the QMJHL. His 90 points were good enough to lead his team in scoring, and he added four points in four playoff games before the Eagles were beaten in the first round.
Ivan was also part of the Czech team that almost won the WJC U20 Gold Medal this past January, losing to Canada in overtime. He recorded an assist in 7 games.
The Eagles will kick off the 2023-24 regular season when they travel to take on the Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday, October 13 at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Colorado will make its home debut when the team plays host to Grand Rapids on Friday, October 20.
