Coachella Valley Firebirds Sign Jacob Hayhurst

The Coachella Valley Firebirds announced today that they have signed forward Jacob Hayhurst for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

Hayhurst comes to Coachella Valley from the Springfield Thunderbirds (the AHL affiliate of the St Louis Blues) and Worcester Railers, (the ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders). Previous to that he has spent time with the Hartford Wolf Pack, the Wheeling Nailers and the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. Hayhurst, a Mississauga, Ontario, native, is a product of the NCAA, spending four years with RPI before spending a year at the University of Michigan and then turning pro.

Last season he recorded 6 points (2 goals, 4 assists) in 24 AHL games for the Thunderbirds and 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) in 25 games for the Railers.

He joins a Coachella Valley squad that just finished their inaugural season, where they took their first trip to the Calder Cup playoffs.
