Golden Knights’ Brendan Brisson Called up to the NHL

The Vegas Golden Knights announced early Sunday morning that the club is calling up their highly touted prospect Brendan Brisson.

VGK’s first-round pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, Brisson has played in 102 games in the AHL, scoring 31 goals and 68 points. Brisson gets the call amidst the Golden Knights’ growing injury crisis, with star center Jack Eichel placed on IR.

Brisson set a Henderson Silver Knights rookie record in goals and points in the 2022-23 season. The forward also earned himself a spot as one of Vegas’ “Black Aces” during the 2023 Stanley Cup playoff run.

The last first-round pick drafted by Vegas to play a game for them was Peyton Krebs. Drafted in 2019, Krebs was a fundamental part of the trade package sent to Buffalo to acquire Jack Eichel. Brisson won’t be the first player drafted in 2020 to dress for the Golden Knights, as Lukas Cormier got the call earlier this season.

The Silver Knights will have to adjust to the recent call-ups, as they are on a 4 game losing streak. The Golden Knights look to do the same, as they are 3-7-0 in their last 10.
