Providence, R.I. – The Hershey Bears arrived in Providence post All-Star break sitting atop the Atlantic and AHL overall to deliver a 3-1 loss to the second place host Bruins. This game had playoff hockey intensity with tight checking and limited scoring chances. Hershey winger Joe Snively set up in the slot ripped a snapshot for the score, in the third period. This came after the Bruins hit the post on a shot many fans in the house thought went in the net. No goal light came on and play continued much to the dismay of the partisans.

Bruins forward Brett Harrison would tie the game on a tip in from a point shot that beat Hershey goalie Hunter Shepard high on the left side. Hershey, defended by forward Marc McLaughlin, would score the go-ahead goal from winger Alex Limoges, then swiftly stuffed the puck under Bruins goalie Brandon Bussi as he slid across the crease with his pads split. The Bruins pulled Bussi for the extra skater with 2:39 left but Hershey defenseman Aaron Ness would get the unassisted empty netter to seal the game with twenty nine seconds left.
