Springfield, MA – The Springfield Thunderbirds hosted the Laval Rocket on Saturday night and skated off with a 7-3 victory in a feisty rough and tumble game. Rocket goalie Jakub Dobes, in his second game in consecutive nights, would go the distance in the loss. The Springfield Thunderbirds scored their first two goals on the power play and got scores from seven players. The Rocket would score two in the first, with the period ending tied at two. Thunderbirds goaltender Vadim Zherenko would keep the Rocket off the board in the second and give up one in the third as the home team scored two in the second and three in the third. The win keeps the Thunderbirds in the last playoff spot in the Atlantic Division ahead of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
