Providence, R.I. – The Lehigh Valley Phantoms skated away with three out a possible four points with a shootout loss to the Bruins on Friday and a 5-2 win on Saturday night. The Phantoms jump ahead of Springfield for the final playoff spot in the Atlantic.
Saturday night’s high energy physical contest. The Bruins opened up scoring early with two power play goals in the first by Patrick Brown and Georgii Merkulov. Adam Brooks would score his first of the game at the end of the first period. He would tally again with the game winner in the second. Followed with Tanner Laczynski hat trick, one in the second and two in the third. Lehigh was backstopped by Parker Gahagen with 29 saves on the night for the win. Lehigh and Springfield square off against each other with a midweek game Wednesday March 20.
