Springfield, MA – The visiting Milwaukee Admirals making their only appearance in Springfield this season defeated the Thunderbirds 4-1. In a first period that saw 13 combined shots by both teams it was the Admirals Grigori Denisenko with the only goal. The Thunderbirds Nikita Alexandrov would tie the game on the power play just past the midway point of the second but the Admirals would retake the lead on a goal by Ondrej Pavel before the period ended. The Admirals added two more in the third as Mark Friedman scored early in the period for the 3-1 lead. The Thunderbirds pulled goalie Colten Ellis, 34 saves, in the final minutes of the period but Joakim Kemell would get the empty netter to seal the victory for the visitors. Admirals net minder Matthew Murray had 23 saves on the night.
