Providence, R.I. – The visiting Thunderbirds rallied for a 4-3 shootout victory over the Bruins on Saturday night at the Amica Mutual Pavillion. The Bruins Oliver Wahlstrom and Riley Tufte had first period goals before Thunderbirds Dalibor Dvorsky would get one back to end the period 2-1. The Thunderbirds Matthew Peca would notch the tying and only goal of the second period. The Bruins took the lead in the third with Riley Tufte netting his second of the game. The Thunderbirds despite being outshot by an almost 2-1 margin hung in as Corey Andonovski tied it late in the period. The Thunderbirds had the edge in play in the overtime but were held at bay by Bruins net minder Micheal DiPietro. Nikita Alexandrov would notch the winner in the extra round of the shootout securing the win for goalie Vadim Zherenko and the Thunderbirds.
