Providence, R.I. – The Providence Bruins defeated the visiting Toronto Marlies 5-2 on Friday evening. The Bruins led by Oliver Wahlstrom who had the hat trick sent Marlies starting goalie Artur Akhtyamov to the bench in the second period to be replaced by Dennis Hildeby. After a scoreless first period the Bruins had a four goal second period, Wahlstrom netting two on the power play. Tyler Pitlick on the power play and Riley Duran even strength. The Marlies would notch one in the period from Jacob Quillan. Wahlstrom would strike again in the third and the Marlies Roni Hirvonen net their final score of the game. The Bruins net minder Michael DiPietro notched the win.
