San Jose Barracuda Adds A Goalie

With the departures of Aaron Dell and Strauss Mann, the San Jose Barracuda were in need of a new body to put between the pipes. Enter Beck Warm, a former Tri-City Americans goalie who’s spent the last few seasons bouncing between the AHL and the ECHL.

Warm was most recently with the Cinncinati Cyclones, where he finished with a record of 28-9-4 in 43 starts, an .899 sv% and a GAA of 3.01. As well, he played ten playoff games for the Cyclones during their Kelly Cup run, recording a 9.13 sv% and a record of 4-5. He also spent some time with the Rochester Americans, playing two games and losing both in overtime. Before that, he spent time with the Norfolk Admirals and the Chicago Wolves.

The Barracuda struggled mightily with goaltending last season, with only one of their three goalies (Eetu Makiniemi) finishing with an above .900 sv% and a sub 3 GAA. With Makiniemi likely to be the first call if one of the Sharks goalies (Mackenzie Blackwood, Kaapo Kahkonen) goes down to an injury, Warm could have an opportunity on his hands here.

The San Jose Barracuda open their season at home on Friday October 13 against the Rockford Icehogs.
