Providence, R.I. – The Providence Bruins hosted the Thunderbirds for a Teddy Bear Toss Sunday afternoon matchup and blanked the visitors 5-0. Jayson Megna opened the scoring with a shorthanded breakaway goal in the first. The play would pause as the teddy bears rained down. There was superb play by Bruins goalie Brandon Bussi, and Thunderbirds Colten Ellis saw a scoreless second period. Three scored in the third period. Georgii Merkulov sealed the deal with a late power-play goal.
